Interoperability is essential between company mainframes and information systems As an essential component of their technological assets for more than 30 years, many large companies have fully understood the value of the applications and data contained in their mainframe platforms. They have also understood that it is complex and very costly to migrate these applications or rewrite them, and that it is just as complex to duplicate this data into other environments (source of errors, the risk of losing consistency within the overall system, etc.). There is a very real need to find new solutions that allow the interaction of their existing applications (transactions + databases) with their other environments, whether Intranet and Extranet (in particular by dynamically integrating them into their Web applications or portals). However, the solutions sought by companies must be both simple to implement and upgradeable while also not further complicating any ongoing modernisation and homogenisation processes of their information systems. |
